This vintage brass Mercator map was a real find and I believe it was made during the 1960's. You don't normally find a flat piece with the whole world on it, normally there are two maps. Gerard Mercator maps go back as far as 1569 which was highly used for navigation, and many are still used today. This Mercator map is 58" wide by 33" high by 3" deep including the hanging mechanism. I found this piece of art hanging in an antique store in Los Angeles, CA.
