BIOGRAPHY
Randy was born in 1913 and died in 1997. He obtained his MFA, Master's of Fine Art, at Alfred University in 1937 and was Instructor of Industrial Design 1949-1951, and Instructor in Pottery 1951-1956. Randy was nationally known for his paintings and ceramics, named the nation's CERAMIC ARTIST OF THE YEAR IN 1949 BY NEWSWEEK MAGAZINE. His career was dedicated to art and the creation of the Hartsville Museum.
Contemporaries include Ted Randall and Val Cushing and, before, Charles Fergus Binns, an English-born studio potter and the first director of the New York State School of Clayworking and Ceramics, currently the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University
