Description
This lovely Chinese export Rose Medallion platter was hand painted in the first half of the 19th century with overglaze enamels of pinks, rust, greens, blue, black and yellow over a white background. The face of the platter has four cartouche alternating between scenes of people and flowers and birds of paradise, with fanciful borders throughout. The center medallion features a bird with flowers surrounded by four butterflies. Very colorful and detailed.
