This marvelous Limoges/Nippon punch bowl and pedestal are created in gorgeous white porcelain with large ribbons of gold gilt around the edges, as well as the feet of the pedestal, all in the Art Deco style. This beautiful punch bowl has a center medallion hand painted with oranges, grapes and foliage in the Art Deco style. There are intricate handles with a "C" and claw shaped feet on the pedestal. I was told that the blank punch bowl and pedestal were made in Limoges France, then shipped to Japan [Nippon] for painting and gilt finishing, hence the presence of two different stamps. Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Punch bowl without pedestal diameter=13 inches, Height from top to bottom=6-1/2 inches. Pedestal diameter=7 inches, Height=3 inches. Hallmarks: Punch bowl stamped: "Nippon" which was used for export items from 1891-1921. Punch bowl stamped: "JPL" France. This marvelous punch bowl and pedestal has been well cared for, gently used and is in excellent antique condition, free from chips or cracks. Gold gilt is intact, but there are rubbed losses on handles and top edge, commensurate with age and use.
