Description
A classic piece of art by Erte (Romain de Tirtoff) Russian/French 1892-1990. This is a pencil signed lithograph, lower right, numbered 267/300 on the lower left. Subject is one of his super stylized fashionable ladies having red hair and a widows peak, dressed in a smashing blue coat with fuzzy mink stole. Beautifully matted and framed in silver leaf molding.
Erté is perhaps most famous for his elegant fashion designs which capture the Art Deco period in which he worked. One of his earliest successes was designing apparel for the French dancer Gaby Deslys who died in 1920. His delicate figures and sophisticated, glamorous designs are instantly recognizable and collectible.
