Description
A pair of French Directoire period ceramic lidded apothecary jars from the late 18th century, with hand-painted foliage motifs, labeled Tamarind and Ext. Cicutæ A:F, from the Deroche factory. Born in France during the Directoire, each of this pair of apothecary jars features a conic lid accented with a finial and a central shield, surrounded by hand-painted foliage motifs and highlighting the labels, Tamarind for one and Ext. Cicutæ for the other. Nicely decorative with their delicately gilded accents and hand-painted décor, these French Directoire apothecary jars, circa 1795 signed Deroche on the underside, will be a lovely addition to any shelf, table or buffet top.
