Set of Six Roe Deer Trophies on Wooden Slices Germany ca. 1960s

Mounted on wooden plaques, this vintage set features six large Black Forest roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) trophies. Taken in Germany around 1960, they make an excellent addition to any rustic cabin decoration.

Trophies are mementos from the hunted game, which are kept by the huntsmen as a souvenir or decorative item. For many centuries it was a tradition to collect trophies. Nowadays exactly these are becoming more and more popular as decorative highlights in hunting lodges.
