Set of Six Roe Deer Trophies on Turned Plaques Germany ca. 1910s

An antique set of six antique Black Forest roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) trophies mounted on turned wooden plaques, painted in black. The trophies were shot in Germany around 1910 - 1920. One of them has abnorm antlers. A great addition to every rustic cabin decoration.

Trophies are mementos from the hunted game, which are kept by the huntsmen as a souvenir or decorative item. For many centuries it was a tradition to collect trophies. Nowadays exactly these are becoming more and more popular as decorative highlights in hunting lodges.
