Antique French jardinière planter, elegant and finely crafted in richly figured walnut with refined neoclassical influence. The rectangular planter features a deep fitted liner above a finely paneled frieze, centered with an ornate gilt-bronze escutcheon motif that lends a subtle decorative flourish. Raised on beautifully turned and spiral-carved legs joined by shaped stretchers, the piece displays exceptional balance and craftsmanship characteristic of French decorative arts of the Napoleon III period. Its slender proportions and sophisticated silhouette make it an ideal statement piece for an entry hall, salon, conservatory, or beneath a grand window arrangement. From the South of France.
