William A. Eyden, often referred to as William A. Eyden Sr., was an American painter associated with the Hoosier art tradition in Indiana. He was known for his impressionistic landscapes, rural scenes, and depictions of small-town Midwestern life. Born in Indiana, Eyden trained at the John Herron Art Institute in Indianapolis, where he studied under prominent artists including William Forsyth and Clifton Wheeler.
Eyden exhibited throughout the Midwest and was active in regional art associations. His works are characterized by a soft, atmospheric palette and an emphasis on light and seasonal change. He also worked as an art instructor and contributed to the development of local art communities.
