An original 18th-century French military discharge certificate, or Congé Militaire, issued in 1764 to a grenadier serving in the Régiment d’Infanterie d’Angoumois of the Royal French Army.

The partially printed and handwritten document records the granting of congé absolu, or absolute discharge from military service, to a soldier identified in the manuscript as Antoine Bourrigam, called La Feuillade, described as the son of the late Antoine, a tailor, and Marie Moreau. Some portions of the name and biographical information are difficult to decipher and should be independently reviewed.
