Description
**Important** Please read below description on how to avoid high shipping costs.
This is an 1858 Flying Eagle Cent, a one-cent piece struck by the United States Mint. The obverse features a flying eagle, while the reverse depicts a wreath surrounding the denomination 'ONE CENT'. Struck only in 1857 and 1858, this coin represents a short-lived and highly sought-after series among collectors. It is composed of 88% copper and 12% nickel. The coin exhibits significant, even wear consistent with its grade, with most fine details such as the eagle's feathers and wreath now smooth. The main design elements, including 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA', 'ONE CENT', and the date '1858', remain visible but flattened, showcasing a gray-brown patina along with some minor surface marks from circulation. Importantly, this coin is presented as raw and not encapsulated by any third-party grading service. Don't miss the chance to own this classic piece of numismatic history. Inventory #22

Lodestar Auctions collects 7% sales tax for Illinois residents only. Live Auctioneers/Proxibid collects sales tax for most states. Check with them for sales rates for your state. See below for shipping options to choose at checkout.
Shipping:
Pick up and buyer arranged shipping is always welcome. We offer in-house shipping for items that can ship through common carrier. All items will be professionally packed at a reasonable rate. If you paid for the item via Lodestar Auctions or Proxibid we will have your items packaged and send you a link to choose and pay for shipping on the Lodestar Auctions Website.
**Important** Live Auctioneers has their own shipping program. We find it to be very expensive and slow. This is the rate you see advertised when bidding. We do not recommend using them. If you do use them you must checkout via Live Auctioneers and choose LiveShip at checkout. If you pay via Live Auctioneers and want our In-house shipping you must choose self-arranged shipping at checkout. If you checkout via Lodestar Auctions this does not apply. I apologize if this is confusing, Live Auctioneers purposely arranged it this way to push their own overpriced shipping service. We are not happy about this and are trying to make it work.
Issues:
All items sold as is. We do our best to describe accurately and take plenty of non-touched up photos to best represent the item. Any lost or damaged item due to shipping must go through the carriers. Buyer pays any return shipping costs regardless of situation.
Thanks for your patronage and happy bidding!
