The pieces feature a cream-colored porcelain body decorated with a central transfer-printed floral spray of pink tulips and gray-green foliage. Each piece is finished with a platinum-colored trim along the rims and highlights on the handles of the serving vessels. The collection includes dinner plates, bread and butter plates, an oval serving platter, an oval open vegetable bowl, a covered sugar bowl, and a creamer. The underside of the pieces bears the factory backstamp featuring a stylized California mission building inside an oval, with Franciscan China inscribed within. Below the oval is the text MADE IN CALIFORNIA U.S.A. and GLADDING, McBEAN and CO., with the pattern name CARMEL printed in purple.
