Description
This 27-inch tall sculpture beautifully captures Flora, the Roman goddess of blossoming plants. She wears a garland of copper-colored flowers that elegantly drapes over her left upper arm, winding down her back and over her right forearm, where it is gently cradled by her hand.
Positioned before a tree trunk adorned with climbing flowers, Flora's hair features similar blooms, framing her beautiful serene face. Her hair is styled with braids at the top and a curled ponytail that cascades and divides over her left shoulder.
Flora is dressed in a flowing gown of golden fabric, its soft pleats and folds catching the light as it trails behind her bare feet. The top of the gown dropped over her waist, revealing her bosom, while a slit above her right thigh exposes her leg.
Created by Austin Productions for the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, this sculpture draws inspiration from the Farnese Flora, housed in the Museo Nazionale in Naples, Italy. Crafted from Durastone, a unique formulation of crushed stone, this exquisite piece is sure to enrich any design scheme with its intricate details and timeless beauty.
