This perfectly made Bento box is most likely from the Meiji Period based on the quality of the lacquer painting and superbly designed pieces. It is actually the top part of a bento box. Missing the bottom sections. A beautiful piece indeed and priced to sell. Would make a great gift for the lover of Japanese Art.
