Description
Qianlong Mark, Qing Dynasty, antique copper glaze and gold-sprinkled double-eared vase
Provenance: Private Collection, Vancouver
This vase has a long neck, a bulging belly, and slightly higher feet. The mouth and shoulders of the vase are decorated with banana leaf patterns, and the sides of the neck are decorated with double dragon ears and a curled dragon tail. The upper end of the ring foot and the neck ring are decorated with a lotus pattern, and there are traces of gilding in parts of the body. Most antique bronze porcelain uses purple gold glaze or tea leaf powder glaze to imitate the color of copper. It is decorated with gold and is also decorated with azurite or green color to simulate patina. The bottom is engraved with the six-character seal script inscription Made in the Qianlong Year of the Qing Dynasty"."
