Elegant drop-leaf secretaire writing desk crafted from golden elm and glowing ribbon mahogany with carved elm details, cabriole legs, Bakelite escutcheons, Bakelite interior drawers pulls and antique brass finish exterior ring pulls.  Made in Sweden circa 1950, as a writing desk known as a "secretaire" (secretary in English).  The top leaf folds down to reveal a smart workspace with cubbyholes and drawers, all faced in ribbon mahogany veneer - perfectly sized for a notebook computer, tablet or writing surface.
