Description
An early 19th Century French marquetry commode de maitrise, or miniature sample commode. Made veneer of mahogany with pine and beech as a secondary woods. Three dovetailed drawers with herringbone patterned front and small turned knobs. In good condition with signs of old worm activity, but no longer active. Perfect for storing treasured objects or for use as a jewelry box or men's valet. Circa 1820-1830. Minor touch up on the veneer and overall waxing.
