This marvelous antique serving piece is created in gorgeous German 800 fine silver and is complete with a beautiful cobalt blue glass liner. This magnificent serving bowl consists of a fretwork frame, complete with rose garland festooned with a blank cartouche in the center on each side. The bowl rests gracefully on 4 fretwork legs. The heavy cobalt glass liner is removable. Impressed hallmarks include: Crescent moon and crown, which in 1886 became mandatory national mark and individual city marks were abolished. In addition, there is a "2" above the crescent and crown and "800." Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Length from end to end =7-3/4 inches, Width side to side=4-3/4 inches, Inside depth=3-1/1 inches, Height including legs=3-1/2 inches. Cobalt liner=Length from end to end=7-5/8 inches, Width side to side=5 inches, Inside depth=3 inches, Height from top edge to bottom=3 inches, Thickness of liner=1/4 inch. This marvelous serving piece has been well cared for, gently used and is in excellent antique condition with the silver bowl free from scratches, dents and repairs. The inner cobalt liner is free from chips, cracks or other imperfections.
