embroidered with 'The Oath of the Peach Garden', a story from 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms', in which Liu Bi, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei took an oath of fraternity in a ceremony in the Peach Garden and became sworn brothers, the story later coming to symbolise fellowship and loyalty
