Jack Ruby group consisting of three original 8 x 10” vintage press photographs and one vintage color postcard, all relating to the aftermath of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The group includes a press photograph of Ruby in conversation with attorney Melvin Belli following Belli’s appointment as defense counsel, a courtroom photograph depicting Ruby during legal proceedings, and a press photograph showing Ruby in a Dallas Police corridor on November 24, 1963, shortly before he fatally shot Lee Harvey Oswald. The final item is a contemporary color postcard depicting downtown Dallas with a handwritten notation on the reverse identifying the Texas School Book Depository.
Overall in very good condition with light expected age toning, minor handling wear.
Jack Ruby (1911–1967) was the Dallas nightclub owner who shot and killed Lee Harvey Oswald on November 24, 1963, while Oswald was being transferred from Dallas Police Headquarters to the county jail. Ruby’s actions, witnessed live on national television, became one of the defining moments in the aftermath of President Kennedy’s assassination and remain central to the history and enduring public fascination surrounding the events of November 1963.
