Gerald R. Ford autographed souvenir statement on official gold-embossed personal stationery, affirming the conclusions of the Warren Commission regarding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The printed statement bears Ford’s signature and date, “12/12/94,” beneath a declaration reaffirming his support for the Commission’s findings three decades after its report was issued. Accompanied by the original typed letter from Ford’s office sent to the recipient, advising that several items had already been signed and requesting that no further autograph requests be submitted.
The printed statement reads in part: “In 1964, the Warren Commission unanimously decided: 1. Lee Harvey Oswald was the assassin, and 2. The Commission found no evidence of a conspiracy, foreign or domestic. As a member of the Commission, I endorsed those conclusions in 1964 and fully agree now as the sole surviving Commission member.”
The accompanying office letter, on Office of Gerald R. Ford stationery, states: “Since we have already autographed several items for you, please do not send any more requests for autographs by former President Ford.”

Gerald R. Ford (1913–2006) served as the 38th President of the United States from 1974 to 1977. Prior to becoming president, Ford represented Michigan in the U.S. House of Representatives and was appointed to the Warren Commission in 1963 to investigate the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. He remained one of the Commission’s most vocal defenders throughout his life, making signed statements concerning the Warren Report particularly desirable artifacts relating to one of the most debated events in American history.
