Details:
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis original 10 x 8” black-and-white Associated Press press photograph depicting Caroline Kennedy and John F. Kennedy Jr. arriving in Athens, Greece, accompanied by their mother, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. The image captures the family shortly after their arrival from New York for the Easter holidays during the Onassis years.
The photograph retains its original Associated Press editorial crop marks and caption text printed directly on the image. The reverse bears period publication notations indicating use in June 1970, along with later Photofest archive labels.
Good condition with light creasing to the edges and corners. Editorial crop marks, caption text, and period publication handling wear consistent with newsroom use.
The printed caption reads in part: “Caroline Kennedy and her brother John Jr. are trailed by their mother, Mrs. Jacqueline Onassis, after the children arrived from New York today for the Easter Holidays.” The image is dated March 21, 1970, in Athens.
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (1929–1994) divided much of her time between New York and Greece following her marriage to Aristotle Onassis in 1968. Caroline Kennedy (born 1957) and John F. Kennedy Jr. (1960–1999) frequently traveled between the United States and Europe during this period. Press photographs documenting the family’s movements during the early Onassis years remain among the most recognizable and historically significant images associated with the Kennedy family after the presidency.
