Fine condition.
Jacqueline Kennedy (1929–1994) served as First Lady of the United States from 1961 to 1963 and became an enduring international symbol of grace, culture, and public service. During the Texas trip of November 21–22, 1963, she accompanied President Kennedy on what would become the final journey of his presidency. Cecil Stoughton, the first official White House photographer appointed to the Executive Office of the President, documented many of the most important moments of the Kennedy administration. Photographs associated with the final Texas tour hold particular historical significance, preserving the last hours of the Kennedy presidency before the tragic events that unfolded in Dallas on November 22, 1963.
Provenance: From the archive of Cecil Stoughton (1920–2008), official White House photographer best known for capturing some of the most iconic images of the Kennedy administration, including the swearing-in of Lyndon B. Johnson aboard Air Force One following JFK’s assassination. His body of work remains an essential visual record of the early 1960s American presidency.
