Jacqueline Kennedy (1929–1994) served as First Lady of the United States from 1961 to 1963 and became an enduring international style icon. Following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, she remained one of the most closely followed public figures in the world. Caroline Kennedy (born 1957) and John F. Kennedy Jr. (1960–1999) grew up under extraordinary public scrutiny, making candid family photographs such as this especially sought after by collectors of Kennedy memorabilia and twentieth-century American history.
