Kennedy original 10 x 8” black-and-white United Press International (UPI) press photograph depicting the presidential limousine speeding toward Dallas’ Parkland Memorial Hospital on November 22, 1963, moments after Kennedy was mortally wounded during the assassination in Dealey Plaza. The dramatic image captures the urgency and confusion of one of the most consequential moments in American history as the motorcade races through Dallas following the shooting.
The photograph retains its original UPI telephoto caption across the top margin, reading in part: “The President’s car, carrying the wounded President John F. Kennedy speeds toward Parkland Hospital…” and further noting Kennedy’s death and the charging of Lee Harvey Oswald. The reverse bears the original United Press International credit stamp from New York.
