Samuel B. Ballen was a Texas oilman and executive connected to the petroleum and geophysical industries during the mid-20th century. Following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, Ballen was interviewed and testified before the Warren Commission as part of its broader investigation into Lee Harvey Oswald and various individuals connected to Texas business and social circles. Although never accused of wrongdoing, Ballen’s name later became associated with JFK assassination research and conspiracy literature examining influential Dallas-area oil and intelligence-connected figures of the era.
