Jacqueline Kennedy collection of six original receipts, statements, and account records dating from 1959 to 1962, documenting personal purchases, household expenses, retail accounts, and medical services during the Senate, presidential campaign, and White House years. Three of the six pieces bear handwritten filing notations and initials (“MBG”) of Jacqueline Kennedy’s longtime personal secretary, Mary B. Gallagher.

The archive includes a Tiffany & Co. account statement dated April 27, 1962; a Lord & Taylor account statement dated July 14, 1962; a Best & Co. account statement dated July 9, 1962; a Brentano’s receipt dated October 6, 1961, for books including Treasury of Carlyle and American Homes; a Cyclax of London receipt dated September 18, 1959, for beauty and skincare products; and a physician’s statement from Dr. Alfred M. Sheehy of Osterville, Massachusetts, addressed to Mrs. John F. Kennedy at Hyannis Port.
Three of the documents include handwritten file numbers, dates, and initials “MBG” of Mary B. Gallagher. As Jacqueline Kennedy’s trusted personal secretary, Gallagher managed many of the family’s records and personal affairs, providing an additional layer of provenance and a direct connection to the administration of the Kennedy White House.
