Jacqueline Kennedy original 8 x 8.25” black-and-white press photograph depicting the design mock-up for the 1962 White House Christmas card issued by President John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy. The image shows the proposed card layout featuring a winter scene of the White House with a horse-drawn sleigh crossing the snow-covered South Lawn above printed holiday greetings and the facsimile signatures of President and Mrs. Kennedy. The reverse bears period newspaper and wire service notations, editorial markings, and a caption dated December 22, 1962 identifying the image as the Presidential Christmas card sent to friends of the White House.
