The collection includes first day covers, commemorative cachets, inauguration covers, memorial issues, illustrated envelopes, international commemoratives, souvenir cards, postcards, stamp show covers, and other Kennedy-themed philatelic material.
The archive spans virtually every aspect of Kennedy’s public life and remembrance, from his 1960 presidential campaign and inauguration through his presidency, foreign policy, space program, civil rights era, assassination, funeral, and countless subsequent memorial tributes. Included are official U.S. Postal Service issues, privately produced cacheted covers, international postal commemoratives, White House-themed items, campaign mail, Brookline birthplace commemoratives, Alliance for Progress material, White House Mail Room first day covers, International JFK Stamp Show souvenirs, and numerous specialty philatelic productions issued over several decades.
Several pieces feature unusual designs and artwork, including color portrait cachets, campaign graphics, memorial medallion covers, illustrated assassination tributes, Kennedy family themes, and historically significant commemorative cancellations from locations closely associated with President Kennedy.
