John F. Kennedy White House “The President’s Engagements” memo sheet dated Wednesday, October 9, 1963, measuring approximately 5.75 x 9.25 inches. Printed on official White House memorandum stationery, the sheet records several of President Kennedy’s scheduled appointments during the final weeks of his presidency.
The memo notes a 9:30 a.m. presentation in which President Kennedy was to accept an award on behalf of the American Association for Health, Physical Education, and Recreation, followed by a 10:00 a.m. meeting with His Excellency Fernando María Castiella, Foreign Minister of Spain. The day’s schedule concludes with a 6:00 p.m. Press Conference, offering a snapshot of the President’s daily responsibilities spanning domestic, diplomatic, and public affairs during the closing months of the Kennedy administration.
