Details:
Jack Ruby autographed original pencil sketch featuring a meticulously rendered geometric pattern drawn on one side of a folded measuring 8.5 x 11" (sight, folded) and inscribed on one side, “To W.R. Pennington, To the parents of a wonderful boy "Ray" Sept. 1965, Sincerely, Jack Ruby.”
Encapsulated by PSA/DNA with an autograph grade of NM-MT 8.
Created during his imprisonment, this sketch exemplifies Ruby’s surprising sense of artistic design and obsessive precision. Using only a pencil and ruler, he produced numerous symmetrical, Navajo rug–style designs, adjusting the shading by line spacing and pressure. These “doodles” were typically given to jail staff or cellmates, often with dedications of gratitude.
Provenance: Originally from the renowned collection of Dr. John K. Lattimer, celebrated medical historian and Kennedy assassination scholar. Accompanied by a Xerox copy of a page from Lattimer’s landmark book “Kennedy and Lincoln: Medical & Ballistic Comparisons of Their Assassinations”, featuring similar examples of Ruby’s artwork, as well as a copy of the book’s cover.
A scarce relic connecting the Oswald assassination, prison-era Ruby, and one of the most noted collectors of JFK-related materials.
