L, with two-leaf tip-up rear sight and blade front sight; leather shoulder strap of the period with Newark NJ inspector's stamp; lock plate marked "Bridesburg," with American eagle dated 1862;" "Roberts' Patent June. 11, 1867" on left side of receiver; stock with inspector's cartouche; 56 in. L, overall
