Collection of 3 Stevengraphs including: 1.) Framed rowing Stevengraph titled "Are You Ready" showing pair of rowing sculls set for beginning of race. Mat titled and also presents information related to Stevens and process. Reverse of item presents printed information regarding titles of different Stevengraphs available. Silk image measures 2" x 4.75" (sight) in mat measuring 5" x 7.75" (sight) housed in frame measuring 6.25" x 9". Mat exhibits some slight burning/staining. 2.) Pair of Stevengraphs housed in one frame including an image of George Stevenson (1781-1848) the father of railroad engineering surrounded by trains from the past and then present (c.1880's). Image measures 4" x 2.5" (sight). Other image is of train on tracks traveling towards viewer. Image measures 2.25" x 6.75". These pair of images are housed in a single frame measuring 12.5" x 11.5". Provenance: Gibbs family collection, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Members of the Gibbs family, most notably Alvin J Gibbs and James W. Gibbs were discerning and dedicated collectors of autographs, books, and other antiques. The Gibbs family founded the Gibbs Manufacturing Company of Canton, Ohio in 1829 that evolved over the years from farming implement manufacture to notions and toys.
