1200 SLIDE ACTION TRENCH SHOTGUN. Cal. 12ga. S# 150063. 20 1/8" bbl. The markings on the parkerized steel bbl include "WINCHESTER MODEL 1200 12GA 2 3/4 CHAM". Additional markings include "US" and "CYL". Receiver is marked on bottom with serial number and "with added U.S.". The Model 1200 trench guns were placed in service at the very end of the Vietnam War and few, if any made it overseas. The gun remained in service for a number of later conflicts from Grenada until Afghanistan. Black anodized alloy receiver. 5-rd magazine capacity. The bayonet adapter/handguard is mounted on the forward end of the bbl. It incorporates a silver colored bead front sight and has 6 rows of holes in the ventilated portion. Bayonet lug stamped with drawing number "11686389" and lacks "NFR" manufacturer code. Smooth walnut stock and slide handle. Buttstock fitted with checkered black plastic grip. The sling swivel is mounted at the toe of the buttstock. Shotgun is equipped with period green web sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: bayonet with 16 5/8" fuller blade; 21 1/2" overall. Crossguard is secured by 2 rivets is marked "US M1917 / boxed marking with Defense Acceptance Eagle inside / "A" encircled by "C" indicating mfr in Canada under contract to the US Government. Checkered black plastic grips. Green plastic scabbard with metal throat. Throat is marked "U.S. - M1917 / VZM". Scabbard is in good serviceable condition. Bayonet has been sharpened but retains most of its dark phosphate type finish. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear and handling marks throughout. Small 1/2" crack and tiny missing chip at bottom rear of receiver. Notable scratch on right side of butt near toe. Receiver has an arsenal rework type finish over light wear. Bbl retains nearly all of its factory original parkerization. Bayonet lug shows filed fitting as does the rear transverse attaching screw. Very good shiny bore. (25-6709/RW). CURIO. $2,500-3,500.
