LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm. S# 9315h. 3 15/16". P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser in 1938. The bbl. extension is marked with the 4-digit year of mfg. "1938" over the top of the chamber, with x2 Mauser Eagle/63 proofs and a droop eagle firing proof marked on the right (firing proof repeated on right side of bbl. and left side of breechblock). Toggle is marked with Mauser's "S/42" mfg. code. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Standard dovetailed blade front sight and fixed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, bbl. bbl. extension, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, as well as the rear toggle pin. Grips are unnumbered. MAGS: x1 non-matching (S#: 3012i) blued steel mag. with aluminum plug. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory salt blue finish, exhibiting some spots and patches of wear and thinning that have faded to gray patina, some scattered spots and small patches of light pitting, as well as some superficial handling marks overall. Bore exhibits consistent moderate pitting, while retaining good, albeit worn rifling throughout. Grips show consistent mild smoothing, as well as some superficial marks to the diamonds, both panels appearing to have been ground down along the edges of the front grip strap. Left grip exhibits a chip in the usual area, to the right of the safety lever. (26-256/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
