Description
This exquisite early 20th-century Capodimonte porcelain figurine lamp is a true work of art. Figurine alone stands 11 ¾ inches tall.
Unlike most Capodimonte pieces, which are often richly painted, this figurine retains the natural elegance of white porcelain, enhanced by delicate accents of color in the ribbon, bagpipe, flowers, and the textured ground and rocks.
The scene captures a charming pastoral moment: a young boy joyfully playing the bagpipe, while a girl, gracefully poised beside him, carries a basket of flowers in one hand and admires a delicate bloom in her other.
The intricate detailing of their flowing garments, expressive faces, and lifelike posture exemplifies the craftsmanship of Capodimonte artisans. The porcelain figurine is signed on the base.
This unique piece has been transformed into a one-of-a-kind lamp. The figurine is mounted on a beautifully painted green wooden base with gold borders, complementing its refined aesthetic. Vintage brass lamp components, including a gracefully scrolled round base, a fluted column, and a discus-shaped top adorned with tole leaves, complete the lamp's design, adding a touch of antique charm and elegance.
