This necklace here with the center Shell pendant know as the "Ohumba". This Shell is a significant cultural symbol of fertility and is traditional passed down from mother to daughter. Beyond adornment, the jewelry denotes age, social rank, and marital status within the Himba community.
This necklace was purchased while traveling Namibia 1980's, and stored since, never worn.
