This charming studio pottery jar is made of porcelain clay. The central body is glazed in a camel/tan glossy glaze. And decorated with an incised pattern of waving wheat. Top and bottom rims and interior are left unglazed. Incised artist's signature on bottom. Measures 9.75" high x 9.5" diameter In very good condition. Structurally sound with no cracks, chips, missing glaze or issues of note. With several glaze drips on bottom edge. See photos for details.
Ken Edwards (1948 - 2013) had a natural ability to mold clay into amazing works of art. While studying at the University of Puget Sound - he traveled to Japan. Where he met their national treasure - ceramicist Hamada. Embracing his zen philosophy of the craft.
For over thirty years Ken was considered one of Montana's best. Respected and admired for his artistry, technical skills, and expertise. Today his work is rare and held in high regard.
