SilverPlate Butter Dish W. Blue Oplaine Liner Circa 1850s

Description

Silver plate butter serving dish, a blue opaline glass liner inside the platter, and cover lid make it easy for cleaning and also easy to store butter in the fridge and serve to the table in style.
Beautiful pierced work on the tray and engraved designs around the rim and on the lid. The resting goat makes the finial to lift the lid. The measurements are 9" long by 7.5" wide and 4.75" tall. Marked to the bottom #551. no makers mark is observed.
