c. 1920s; The Measuregraph Company - St. Louis, MOMechanical fabric measuring machine with black enameled metal housing, dual calibrated dials, integrated yardage conversion window, and cast iron guide handle. Designed for use in textile shops and dry goods counters, the device allowed clerks to measure bolts of fabric while simultaneously tracking fractional and cumulative yardage through its two-register system. The central chart window provided quick reference conversions for measured quantities, reducing the need for manual calculation during sales transactions. Its compact form and streamlined detailing reflect the practical industrial design and early Art Deco influence common to commercial tools of the period.
