This J.P. Clabrough & Bros double barrel shotgun is a 12 gauge black powder cartridge firearm featuring 29.5-inch barrels, a 14.5-inch length of pull, exposed hammers, and a break-open action. Manufactured by the respected Birmingham, England gunmaker, these shotguns were popular sporting arms during the late black powder era and remain desirable among collectors of antique British doubles.

The shotgun retains its classic exposed-hammer configuration and showcases the craftsmanship typical of Birmingham-made sporting guns of the period. The left hammer is currently stuck in place, a condition detail reflected in the overall presentation. Despite this, the firearm remains an attractive antique sporting shotgun with strong historical and collector appeal. The bores are dull in color with age-related black powder corrosion and wear consistent with a black powder cartridge firearm of this period.
