This Belgian side-by-side antique shotgun is chambered in 12 gauge and features 29.75-inch barrels with a 14-inch length of pull. The shotgun is equipped with exposed hammers. The hammers function properly; however, both firing pins are stuck in the forward position, rendering the firearm non-functional and suitable as a restoration project or display piece. The item shows minor signs of use and wear consistent with normal handling and age. The bores are dull in color with age-related black powder corrosion and wear consistent with long-term use and storage.
Belgium was one of the world's largest producers of sporting firearms during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with many quality side-by-side shotguns manufactured in and around Liege for both domestic use and export. Antique Belgian hammer shotguns remain popular with collectors for their traditional craftsmanship, exposed hammer design, and historical significance as examples of early sporting arms.
