This is a Japanese Type 97 fragmentation hand grenade from World War II. It features a distinctive cast-iron body with a serrated surface pattern designed for fragmentation. The top assembly includes a brass-colored detonator housing with a safety pin and pull ring. The grenade is entirely non-functional and cannot be converted into an explosive device.
