Archive
Wonderful Bette Davis archive evoking the golden days of Hollywood including a bright red elegantly draped Norma Kamali dress personally owned and worn by Davis, as well as four "Bette Davis" signed notes and one signed photo in an elongated presentation frame, along with another frame featuring two autographed photos of the icon later in life.
This archive includes:
-A bright red dress and sash by Norma Kamali personally owned and worn by Bette Davis. She wore it on the occasion of the 1983 Navy Ball in Los Angeles, where she received the Department of Defense Medal of Distinguished Public Service for her work as Co-Founder and First President of the Hollywood Canteen. The program for the event is also included.
-A Bette Davis personally owned and worn rhinestone brooch with transmittal letter from Davis's long-time personal assistant Kathryn Sermak explaining how she wore it with the red dress. Assorted provenance from Christie's where the dress and brooch were sold at their July 19, 2001 sale is also included, as well as the Doyle's April 11, 1990 auction where they were sold prior.
-An elongated frame featuring 4 Bette Davis autograph notes signed, each having a 6.25" x 4" sight, as well as one black and white signed photo, 6.25" x 5.75", of the actress in a role. The sight of each photo measures 9.5" x 7" and the overall frame size is 14.75" x 20.75". None examined outside of frame. Lower photo has smudging to signature, else fine.
