Description
An exceptional late 19th-century American entertainment broadside advertising "Profs. Pugh and Vandayburg’s Wonderful Machine, The Graphophone." This historic advertising handbill captures the dawn of commercial recorded audio when traveling exhibitors toured local venues showcasing the "Wonder of the Age" to amazed audiences. The piece features bold, classic Victorian-era typography printed on paper. The broadside exhibits expected age-toning, a minor tear in the lower left corner, and a faint pencil inscription in the upper right margin. The document is mounted under glass in a simple, matted black wood frame showing minor edge scuffs. Frame measures H 17.25", W 13", D 0.75" and the broadsideself measures H 13.75", W 8". See photos for condition. From the Allen Koenigsberg Collection
