Description
A Waltham Presentation Banjo Wall Clock, circa 1920–1930. The mahogany case is accented by a brass eagle finial and cast brass side scrolls. The round dial features Arabic numerals and is marked Waltham. The clock features its original reverse-painted glass (eglomise) panels:Throat Glass: Features an American eagle with outstretched wings perched above a patriotic red, white, and blue shield with crossed flags.Lower Tablet Glass: Depicts the naval battle scene Perry s Victory, celebrating the Battle of Lake Erie (September 10, 1813), flanked by gold leaf laurels and patriotic banners. The interior case features an authentic Waltham production stamp. Complete with its original hands, attachable brass eagle finial, and winding key. Good vintage condition overall. The mahogany case and gold-toned rope trim are structurally sound with minor, age-appropriate surface scuffs and light wear to the gilded base bracket. The original reverse-painted glass panels remain vibrant and intact; the reverse of the lower door reveals authentic hand-painted detailing with minor historic adhesive stabilization along the outer perimeter edges. The dial face shows minor, expected light surface dust. The movement is intact and includes the key; sold as-is, timekeeping accuracy has not been tested. Measures 41 H x 10.5 W x 4 D. See photos.
