Description
The brooch is finely crafted in silver, accented with gilded highlights, and centered with a cobalt blue enamel shield bearing a gilt monogram "S" in elaborate foliate scrolls. Flanked by two rampant lions, the crest is surmounted by a scallop shell motif and adorned with ornamental scrollwork. The reverse features a hinged fitting and is stamped Froment Meurice, the mark of the renowned 19th-century Parisian jeweler celebrated for his revivalist and Renaissance-inspired creations.
