US M1913 Patton Cavalry Saber & Scabbard - 35" straight double edge thrusting sword with fuller on edge side, : Features a massive, full-basket sheet metal handguard designed to completely protect the rider's hand. Ricasso marked "LF (flaming ordnance) & C 1918",(Landers, Frary & Clark), opposite ricasso is "US (claw) no. 11". The checkered black hard rubber/plastic grips feature a dedicated thumb cutout at the top to assist in orienting the blade forward during a charge.Scabbard is made of treated hickory wood covered in rawhide and heavy khaki-drab canvas, fitted with a wide steel throat. Commonly known as the Patton Saber, was the last combat sword issued to and used by theU.S. Cavalry. Designed in part by then-Second Lieutenant (later General) George S.
