A set of silverplate flatware produced by Oneida under the Community brand in the Flight pattern, introduced in 1960. This Mid-Century Modern design features tapered handles with a vertical textured bark-like finish accented by a single sweeping stylized scroll motif. The service is housed in a mahogany-finished wooden two-tier presentation chest and includes place settings along with a collection of serving pieces. Included pieces are 12 dinner knives, 12 dinner forks, 12 salad forks, 25 teaspoons, 12 soup spoons, a gravy ladle, a large pierced flat server, solid serving spoons, a cold meat fork, a sugar spoon, and a master butter knife. 81 pieces total. Each piece is marked with Community in script on the reverse. The wooden chest features a lift-top lid and a single lower drawer, with a brown anti-tarnish cloth lining and a cream-colored satin lid interior marked COMMUNITY THE FINEST SILVERPLATE.
